South Africa #15: All the Small Things

Bigger doesn't always mean better.  If you keep your eyes open, you can find lots of interesting things above and below you.  Here are some photos of awesome little things from the African Bush.

Snail shell.



Moth.

Toad.  At first I was surprised to see one out here, but soon realized they are everywhere!

Millipede crawling along.

Millipede rolled up.  Looks like a shell.

Orange-colored fungus.

I believe this is an Acacia tree.  Will have double check though.

Unidentified berries.  Most likely poisonous since they are bright in color.

Such pretty moths here, that they'll make a moth lover out of any butterfly lover.

Flower growing near the lodge.

A fly, I suppose.  But the coolest fly I've ever seen.

Another tree in bloom.

Leopard tortoise.  They tend to come out after it rains.

A beautiful wildflower near our campsite.

Look at the thorns on this tree.  They're almost as big as steer horns!

A tiny grasshopper.
